What We Do
We believe that despite the physically limiting conditions of an ailment, especially in the case for dementia, the spirit is still alive and capable of receiving the message and hope of Christ. Individuals living at any memory care or assisted living community are people who have physical, social, intellectual, and emotional needs. Therefore, the Prelude Ministries Spiritual Care program is there to serve these needs through several essential avenues and in a manner consistent with the Christian faith and with special emphasis on the ministry of presence. This is accomplished through our spiritual care services which include but is not limited to; weekly worship or hymn sing, weekly teaching sermon, weekly Bible study, daily individual visits, monthly prayer meetings, end of life care given through bedside memorials, and other supportive roles such as Funerals or Celebration of Life services. In addition to this, our pastors provide counseling and prayer to families, staff, and facilitate volunteers to be a blessing to seniors. This includes coordinating free haircuts, worship performances, animal visits, and one to one companionship with chaplain volunteers as well as other believers called to support this ministry.
